This afternoon there was a tornado warning for Kossuth and Hancock counties in north Iowa. Though the storms look like nothing that would produce a tornado, what occurred near Algona, Iowa is what is called a landspout, or nonsupercell tornado. Just a quick note here as I’m putting today’s forecast together. Friday is looking particularly ripe for severe weather across much of Minnesota. SPC has us in a slight risk…the way things look to be shaping up, this will likely be upgraded over the next couple days.
